Architectural Digest exhibits Ginevra Caltagirone's Manhattan Apartment. The Greenwich Village triplex incorporates a considerable amount of artworks elegantly arranged and displayed. Nathanial Rackowe's piece Sliced Door (2005) is positioned in the solarium, alongside an Andy Warhol portrait of Mao Tse-tung.
Sliced Door (2005), was made near the beginning of Rackowe’s Slice Door series, most recently developed in a new collection of sculptures in 2016. Each work takes a standard hollow core door as its starting point, deconstructing it in different ways, and then using fluorescent light as the structural element that bonds it in its new configuration.
