Dima Srouji's Work Acquired by MIT Libraries

Late Monuments 6 (2024)

We are pleased to announce that Late Monuments 6 (2024) by Dima Srouji was aquired by MIT Libraries, Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

 

Late Monuments is a series of stone carved windows with coloured glass inlays that imagine future archaeological monuments in the Palestinian landscape constructed with the traditional technique of Qamariya windows, often found in mosques and churches in Palestine, Yemen, and Egypt.

 

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Libraries acquired Late Monuments 6 (2024), adding this piece to the collection of the Aga Khan Documentation Center (AKDC@MIT).

Part of the MIT Libraries’ Department of Distinctive Collections, AKDC@MIT is a research center focused on the visual and material cultures of the Islamic world writ large, building rich collections of research materials, in a range of languages and formats, not commonly found in other collections in North America.
