Sharjah Art Foundation presents a survey of works by Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim in Gallery 3 at Al Mureijah Square. Curated by Hoor Al Qasimi, the exhibition will feature works spanning over three decades of the artist’s practice, which includes paintings, drawings, sculpture and installations as well as documentation of the artist’s vast explorations into land art. His practice has been inspired by a lifelong relationship with the environment of Khorfakkan, with the Gulf of Oman on one side and the Hajar Mountains on the other. Encompassing the various forms in which he works, this survey will also trace the aesthetic and conceptual concerns that run throughout his practice, such as his use of permutations and his interest in the demise of nature that accompanies urban development. These concerns are evidenced in his various land art projects and the tools he produces, which evoke thoughts of the primordial.
