The paradox within this work forces viewers to rethink or ‘rearrange’ the meaning behind what they see. Numerical figures are seen in maps, coordinates, postal codes, sequences, dates, durations, identifications and above all, time. Those figures create somehow a system, a structure, however, those are all an intangible substance. By using Cyanotypes, Shaikha Al Mazrou intends to overlap numbers through the use of light.
