The diptych builds upon the artist’s "Kaaba Picture as a Misprint" (2014) series, but substitute the abstract Kaaba image with a triangle, square and hexagon. These shapes are filled in solid black against a white background, recalling LeWitt’s "Wall Drawing #343" (1980). The black shape is then rotated on its axis. As a consequence, it manifests a polysemy of (primary and secondary) colours in the form of triangular peaks. Thus, by way of "error", creates what Abbas claims to be a new star: a misprint star.
