oft, squashy, spongy –not qualities normally associated with steel structures, yet in this series Shaikha Al Mazrou makes them appear inherent.  In this series of wet-coated steel pieces by Al Mazrou plays with positive and negative tension and illusions of colour and material.  The crumpled edges of the sculptures evoke a sense of malleability and frailty. 

This sculpture was exhibited along with other finalist of the prestigious Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize at the Galeria Municipal do Porto from September - November 2020. Shaikha Al Mazrou was a joint winner of this prize.
